Because I’m fairly sure Spence & I have approximately two audience members (Hi Gramma! Hi Mom!), I’ll risk being a Spurlock Copycat (Spurlopy Cat?) as I explain 30 Days.v1.
30 Days.v1 is a venture into 100% productivity. How many of us go 100% for a portion of our day or week only to let the remaining hours drop to minimal effort? We look back knowing we could’ve done better. Coulda, woulda, shoulda.
“Minimal effort” is any time we’re not operating at full potential. Minimal effort moments are our “cheat” days. Our “treat” days. The days we feel we’ve “earned” a moment of laziness* or disregard. Who decided that the reward for a few extended moments of maximum effort was a period of the exact opposite? We must re-frame our concept of “reward.” The “reward” for 100% vigilance isn’t falling off the wagon for a hour, a day, or a week. (Just ask AA.) It’s the way you start to feel. The high self-worth and feeling of accomplishment. Operating on a higher plane is the reward.
Who decided that the reward for a few extended moments of maximum effort was a period of the exact opposite? We must re-frame our concept of “reward.”
30 Days.V1 is a window into our commitment to realizing the intrinsic reward in living 100% productively. We won’t look back knowing we could’ve done better. We will track the best meals & workouts, inspiration and very importantly – related expenditures. We’re going to document how an uncompromising, cheat-free investment in our personal and professional health stands up to anything less, dollar for dollar and day to day. Check for (intermittent to frequent) 30 Days.V1 updates on the blog.
*Yes, this means reading A People’s History of the United States rather than watching another re-run of “Family Guy.” Which isn’t even that funny of a show. Even if it is on DVR and we can fast-forward through the commercials.

Wow. My blood pressure went up just reading this considering that I am currently rewarding myself for an earlier spurt of 30 minutes of hard work. And my “reward time” is now double what the work time was…yeah, that’s how I roll.

I gave myself Monday off after a two-hour book review for my book club Sunday night. (It was a tough book and a hostile crowd.) Excessive?

so I can’t rewatch “Community” reruns on DVR? But they are so funny!

I can’t do this AT ALL. I enjoy my downtime in the evening, have too many shows to watch on my dvr, and love Taco Via waaaaaayyyyy too much. Best of luck though and thanks again for flying in for the wedding!
